Encouragement For The Battered
Ever have so many things come against you at once? Your life seems to be barely hanging on and you’re fighting to stay steadfast in your faith. With each blow from the enemy you cry out to the Lord. He answers and assures you that all will be fine, just believe and trust in him. You obey and continue on in your walk with God; then another blow seems to come out of nowhere; you reel from its impact and cry out to the Lord. He comes close and wraps his arms around you and tells you to keep going, have faith and trust in me. Again you obey feeling reassured and refreshed in your soul. You’ve mustered up the courage and are walking in faith. Here’s some encouragement to go on.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:1-6 NIV
